How do you get up on an elephant? |
They showed us several different ways... these elephants were very well trained and more importantly...well treated! |

Picasso in training... |
It took 2 months to train this elephant to paint this picture... she even signed it with and "I love you". Too bad most of the audience was distracted by what was happening in the following photo. |

Getting frisky... |
Bad form to take a picture you say? It was fascinating... like a bad accident you couldn't stop staring at. This poor female was nursing a baby elephant and was chained to the spot. This guy wouldn't leave her alone. I swear he tried more than a dozen times, unsuccessfully I might add. The trainer even jumped on his back to calm him down, but even then he tried again... the trainer was grossed out by that. :) Funny! |

The snack shack... |
You could buy bananas and sugar cane to feed to your elephant, but it really wasn't optional...the elephants would go right up to the shack, and the lady would automatically give it to them...all that remained was for us to scrounge up enough bhat (thai $) to pay for it. How nice of them... |
